Duration: 8 Hours
This morning we drive to the romantic seaside district of Bebek. With one of the most beautiful coastlines on the Bosphorus, you'll enjoy unparalleled views as we stroll along the waterfront. From there, we'll sail along the Bosphorus Strait in a small fishing boat past ancient ruins, small villages, wooden houses, and forested areas. We disembark in the picturesque quarter of Ortakoy. After wandering its lively streets filled with historical buildings, craft vendors, and cafes, we'll stop for lunch at one of the many charming seafront restaurants.
After lunch we'll continue onto the late Ottoman-era Dolmabahce Palace. Built in the 19th century, this palace is one of the most ornately-decorated in the world and bears Rococo, Baroque and Neoclassical architectural elements.
From the palace, we'll drive to Taksim Square and begin a walking tour of nearby Istiklal Street. This pedestrian avenue is the modern heart of Istanbul. Istiklal links Taksim Square with the Galata District, whose backstreets are filled with boutique shops, and bohemian pubs and cafes. We'll stop and have a drink before heading back to the hotel.
